A lot of people with the chronic pain Fibromyalgia, experience high degrees of frustration just trying to explain to their doctors what they are feeling let alone having to explain it to family and friends. When you "look" normal, whatever normal is, there seems to be an unspoken consensus that there really isn't that much wrong with you or that you can't be in that much pain or even worse, that you are faking, making it all up, that it's "in your mind". How many times have you heard that before., right? Can Fibromyalgia really be a chronic pain? Where did you get it? How did you get it? People want answers to the chronic pain that affecting their lives. The chronic pain flareup of fibromyalgia leaves many people sitting, laying, reclining alone in their homes afraid to move because they don't want to intensify the pains ravaging their bodies and wearing their minds down. When you are in chronic pain, waking up everyday is the start of another days battle against some unseen force trying to dominate your body. You are literally fighting with all of your "inner self" to get the pain to ease up so you can participate in the life you dreamed you would have.
I talk alot about massage pads and vibrating belts in my battle against chronic pains and the one I have become deeply attached to is the latest and greatest shown here in this picture. The belt is large enough to be used on different areas of the body but small enough to not be cumbersome, awkward and clumsy. Using vibration therapy to ease chronic pains benefits many people. The vibration is steady and strong and helps ease the muscle spasms that put additional pressure and stretch on the nerves running around them. The sensation provided by the vibration has not only a calming effect on me but the surface area doesn't seem to burn and sting as much during flareups. The vibration on my skin also helps me tolerate my restless legs at night and allows me to get a couple of hours sleep when the medicine kicks in. When I'm walking around, I use the belt to provide comfort to my back muscles. It's like having a massage therapist in your back pocket that you can pull out whenever you want or need to get some relief from the pain, burning, stinging and stabbing pain. I place the belt either directly on the area that hurts the most or I try to centralize the pad and turn it on. PRetty soon the vibration seems to start breaking thur the flairup and my meditative practices help my mind start to bring some control to the flareup.
